News Writing
The following stories include a few stories I wrote for W&L's school newspaper, Ring-Tum Phi, and for News Writing 201.

A story on W&L's night cleaning crew
This story was one of my favorites. Not only do I think it is my best work, but the stories I was able to illustrate would most likely have gone unheard, especially to me. I walked around the early mornings of W&L's colonnade buildings and into hall closets to find my participants. Each of them had a a powerful and interesting journey through life. After the article, multiple people reached out to me.
Crux Club
For the Ring-Tum Phi, I also covered a story on W&L's climbing club. I wanted to write about Crux because rarely do W&L students know about one of the more active clubs on campus. There is also a stigma of fear around climbing that I wanted to break for readers and W&L students alike.

City Council Meeting
In the winter of 2025, I attended a lengthy city council meeting, where the City Council discussed real estate developments on Main Street as well as adding a possible daycare to a local Presbyterian church. I had never attended a city council meeting before, and it was eye-opening to hear citizen's opinions.
